Delhi lieutenant governor VK Saxena recommends CBI investigation into massive irregularities in free lab tests at state-run mohalla clinics after an impact assessment study by the health department reveals ghost patients and fraudulent practices. The doctors marked attendance through pre-recorded videos and did not report for duty. FIR was registered against the doctors and their lab testing data showed thousands of records with non-existent mobile numbers. The scam may involve hundreds of crores of rupees. The LG had previously asked for an audit of tests prescribed at health facilities.
