New set of regulations soon to tackle deepfakes: Vaishnaw

Union minister for electronics and information technology and communications, Ashwini Vaishnaw, said that a new set of regulations will be introduced soon to tackle deepfakes. ​​He chaired a meeting with social media platforms and stakeholders, on the issue of deepfakes today. Addressing the rising incidents of deepfakes, Vaishnaw said, "Social media platforms agree that clear actionable work is needed to detect and prevent deepfakes and strengthen reporting".
