Minor boys made to tie the knot to please rain gods in K'taka villages

With rain remaining elusive and failure of ragi crop looming large, villagers in Chikkaballapur district are resorting to desperate measures to invoke the gods. At least two instances of villagers marrying minor boys on a full moon day to propitiate rain gods have been reported in the district over the last three days.
