Pressure mounts on Mamata to sack education minister

The main opposition in West Bengal, the BJP, has accused chief minister Mamata Banerjee of trying to deflect the people’s attention from the School Service Commission (SSC) recruitment irregularities scam by announcing reorganisation of the state and reshuffle of portfolios of her council of ministers. BJP leaders alleged that the proposed reshuffle was meaningless as another tainted minister Paresh Chandra Adhikari was still serving in Mamata’s government.
