A total of $4.5 million (roughly Rs. 34 crore), wrapped in e-CNY, will be airdropped in China’s Shenzhen city till June 9. People will be able to use their e-CNY tokens to pay for food, clothing, housing, and transportation. China is expanding its Digital Yuan adoption programme in more cities to get more people to use its CBDC.
