The NPCI is now incorporating three new exception codes in the system that will make it easier to close an existing FASTag and opt for a fresh one. Currently, a tag status is determined under three exception codes, namely - blacklist, low balance and exempted. Under the new guidelines, three additional exception codes called hotlist, closed/replaced and invalid carriage will now be added to the system.
